City Lights Software, Inc. (City Lights) is a multifaceted computer and internet publishing company.  We create and market innovative, value added products, programs and software for the computer, satellite, internet and cable industries. Our philosophy is simple, to provide quality service to our community and to the computer / communications industry.  The cornerstone of this philosophy is founder and President, James I. Neusom, II.  City Lights began as a vision Mr. Neusom had to Create New Products, Develop New Markets and Generate New Sources of Revenues for American business. 

Mr. Neusom is a communications specialist and entrepreneur with a strong background in the entertainment industry who has founded and developed several successful companies. He has 25 years of proven experience as a technician and executive in a broad range of communication technologies. In his capacity as a consultant and manager he has negotiated and secured contracts with Fortune 500 companies such as Hughes Space and Communications, IBM, and major cable companies. 

As Executive Director of Community Service Television, a non-profit foundation, Mr. Neusom is comfortable working with government and community leaders to achieve a common goal of improving his community.  In the entertainment industry he has managed and produced musical groups, concerts, and world tours.   He has also built and promoted nightclubs and become well known as a radio personality.

 

Mr. Neusom was born in Watts, California in 1954.  He is a product of a single working class mother who instilled in him the values of education and hard work.  He was trained by the US Navy in broadcast technology and worked as a DJ for Armed Forces Radio and Television until honorably discharged in 1977 veteran.  After spending a number of years traveling around the world while promoting and managing a musical group that he had organized out of Honolulu Hawaii, he came home to Los Angeles in 1986 where he founded In Home Entertainment Systems Inc., a retail satellite and cable construction company.

 

Mr. Neusom earned a reputation for honesty and quality work.   His innovative approach to technical problems had satellite dealers from all over southern California calling for his services.  He has developed many unique concepts in multi-room entertainment systems.  On the commercial side of the business, Mr. Neusom designed and built Cable Systems for local Multi-System Operators (MSOs), Emergency Communications Systems for municipalities and fire departments, as well as pre and post wire installations of Master Antenna Systems for major hotel chains. 

 

City Lights (formerly known as TriCom) restructured, and is now organized into three distinct companies; City Lights Software Inc., a software publishing company; InterServe Networks Inc., a  internet consulting firm; and Digital Music Systems, Inc., an e-commerce research and development group.  In 1998 City Lights and its subsidiaries was moved to Las Vegas, Nevada .  Mr. Neusom turned an adverse experience with TriCom into a positive one.  He successfully drove the entity into a nationally recognized force in innovation and technology.  City Lights now manufactures the largest variety of Afrocentric and multicultural software in the United States.  InterServe sponsors workshops across the country advising small and minority business to expand their businesses onto the Internet and Worldwide Web.

 

Mr. Neusom is married and has two daughters.  He is active in the church and the community of both Los Angeles and Las Vegas.  He believes that it is up to the community to take responsibility for itself and begin to solve its own problems by working together and producing human capital for community reinvestment.  Mr. Neusom's interests lie in music, the arts, and chess.  He is a member of several national and community trade organizations, and actively promotes the information super highway by speaking publicly in forums, schools, and seminars.
